We have been experiencing a fantastic fall here in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Paul and Ruth have adapted well to their new school. Jeremy is back to his Agronomist job after two weeks travel west for an elk hunting trip. He did not get his elk, but I’m sure he will find his way to go back. Several others in his group were successful and shared the bounty. Elk meat is definitely worth trying! He has been hunting on our new farm, but so far no bucks. The past several years have been hard on the deer herd here so only bucks may be taken.
We are pretty excited to have been welcomed with open arms to the Rudyard Bible Church. It is a small church, but is Biblically based and very comfortable. We have had multiple visitors and have enjoyed sharing our corner of the world with them. We even had 2 inches of snow one weekend!
The kids and I are continuing to clean out the barn loft and putting away summer items in preparation for winter. I have big plans to be outside this winter cross country skiing, snow shoeing, and snowmobiling. So have been collecting the necessary equipment and winter clothing. The house is livable and we have numerous projects in mind. Honestly for me it is easier to work in the barn! I’m sure we will get to some of the house projects soon. The biggest is to get our outdoor wood boiler installed.
Our roots are digging deep into this wonderful community. We miss our friends and family from Indiana and hope to have more visitors! God continues to confirm our move up here despite some trying circumstances. I have a lot of ideas for more blog topics, so hopefully will be sharing more often!
