Last fall our snapdragons we had planted continued to bloom despite the weather becoming cold. So I brought them into the house to enjoy in a vase. Several weeks later they began growing roots! So I stuck them into the soil and have enjoyed them all winter. We even had a new blossom.
Our first winter has been mild, but consistently cold, cloudy, and snowy. But I have been so thankful for that little snapdragon hanging in my kitchen window. I know I never thought we would ever leave Indiana permanently. In many ways it didn’t make sense and still often feels crazy. We often look at one another and say, “did we really move to Michigan”. It was never in our plans. Knowing that God orchestrated the whole event makes me eager to find out what he has planned next for our family and farm. However, I feel so inadequate some days. I see the world going crazy and it feels like I can’t make a difference. But then He sends a small blossom from a snapdragon that should be long gone to remind me of His love and His plan. He expects us to bloom as well no matter the place or circumstances.
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
